Rickul Trannyth is a Half-drow male from Riatavin (Southwest from Snowflake Mts).
Poor bastard child story.
Born in 1328, result of rape after an drow incursion to Riatavin. His mother died during birth and he was adopted by Diana Trannyth, an old blind lady. She raised him as a normal child, but the rest of the vilage did not see him with the same eyes. His dark skin, silvery hair and hazel eyes was a constant reminder of his drow heritage and the event that happened months in the past.
Second chance in Edificant Library
On his 10th season, Rickul received an unexpected visitor. Pertelope, a headmistress priest from Edificant Library, came to the vilage on Diana’s resquest. She was fast aging and she knew Riatavin was not a safe place for him. She send a message directly to the headmaster requesting for assistance.
Pertelope was touched by Diana’s request and saw a change to study the behavior of this unusual mox between humans and drows. The headmistress decided to take Rickul under her tutelage and brought him to Edificant Library.
The idea of having a half bread in the library was not welcomed in the begining by the other priests, but Pertelope convinced everyone that this was a rare oportunity. the inhabitants of the library have learn how to tolerate his presence. Under the headmistress tutelage Rickul learn how to socialize with other races and how to deal with problems related to his heritage.
Thirst for knowledge – Martial Arts and Magic
Rickul learnt the arts of read and writing, but that was not enough for him. Following rigorous training, he have learn magic and martial arts. For Pertelope surprize he was proficient in both arts equaly.
Because of his hard training and heritage, he was not a person of many friends. Besides Pertelope, Headmaster Avery and Dean Thobicus, the only person he spent some time with was Pikel Bouldersoulders. An exotic green bearded dwarf responsible for the library gardens. Pikel always had a way to make Rickel smile.
Journey to Cormanthor for more knowledge
During his studings, Rickul took great interests on passages and stories of the elven reign of Cormanthor. He was always eager to learn more about lore and arts of that ancient people. The halls and gardens of the library was fast becoming small to him. Something was growing inside him, telling him to go out and explore the world to quench his thirst for more knowledge.
One day Rickul confessed Pertelope of his interest to travel to Cormyr to learn more about Cormanthor. Pertelope agreed to give him permission to travel Cormyr as long as he completed a simple task for her. He would need to work as a messanger and delivery her message to 3 different cities. If he complete the task successfully he would have permission to go on his own to Cormyr.
The task in hand sounded fairly easy to Rickul, but Pertelope true intention was to send him to 3 of her associates located in different places. The content of the messages were for them to judge Rickul’s character and tell her if he was ready to be let loose in the world.
Three weeks later Rickul returned with Pertelope associates responses. She read their responses carefully and with a wide smile on her face she gave him permission to leave the Edificant Library. Not only that, she gave him a document to prove he was an official member of Edificant Library as a garantee of free access on other temples of Deneir.
And that is where Rickul’s story begins…
